Instructions Prior to Surgery
Yes! If your pet is scheduled for surgery, it is required that your pet fast (no food or water) from 9 p.m. the night before surgery to help prevent complications
Does my pet need to fast before surgery?
This depends on your pets medical condition, the prescribed medication, and the veterinarian's instructions. Please call our office to inquire about medication instructions.
Should I give my pet's morning medication?
Our drop off time for all anesthetic procedures is between 7:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m.
What time should I check-in for surgery?
Please walk your pet before checking in for surgery to give them a chance to go pee and poop. This will shorten your pet's surgery prep time!
Should I walk my pet before surgery?
Most patients will be able to go home the day of surgery typically after 3:00 p.m. Sometimes, a discharge appointment is scheduled but you will be notified if that is the case. Feline patients that were declawed must stay overnight and can be picked up anytime the next day.
